Friday/Saturday Bordeaux
These two days have been magic. Great little hotel right in the old town of
St Emilon with security parking. Weather good, max of 20c with some
clouds. The vines are in early leaf and
walking and driving through the little laneways is picture postcard stuff. Lunches in the sun and great dinners. For
example last night we did the 23 euro menu-foie gras, scallops, tournedo (beef)
and cheese plate. Washed down with local red and an expresso to finish. Long conversation with a couple from Le Mans
(of car race fame).
We also completed a short 2 hour course on the Bordeaux
region with a structures wine tasting finishing with a nice glass of a St E
grand cru.
I have now added pictures to the last blog and below are
a few more. The pictures cannot do justice to the area.
As I write this early Sunday, France is off to the polls.
I bet most of you did not know that if you are away from your electorate then
you can authorise (with documentation) someone else to vote on your
behalf. We will know the result by
8pmish tonight so it will on the news Monday morning your time. It looks like a
change in President is likely.
