The headline for this post just about sums it up. Left St Emilon at 8.30 and travelled down the far south west of France. Not much to say about the far south west but the ares futher east will be explored when we return to France in about 10 days. Straight into San Sebastian and eventually found the persion Bikain at Triunfo 8. A real find-just outside the lod quarter, 150 metres to beach, great room on first floor, best shower in Europe and a very helpful manager. Only 7 rooms at 68 euro a night. Beautiful afternoon so we hit the beach, fell asleep (as you do) and then had a fairly brisk swim. In the evening we went to the old quarter for tapas or pintxo as the locals call it. You just move from bar to bar having 1 or 2 items plus a drink at each. The local fresh, slightly spitzy white is traditionally poured from a great height (see photo). Amelia had recommended a mussel place and YUM Yum! We ended up having 11 platesbetween us plus 5 small drinks (about half size) each. Total cost 45 euro. And home in bed by 11pm.

PS If you are wondering about the parking-impossible except 18 euro a day solves anything. I understand Barcelona is even more.
We are off 'bush-bashing' towards Barcelona tomorrow. Staying in Barcelona over weekend-talk to you all then!!
